I've enjoyed many roads in the UK, including the A4086 in North Wales and the Applecross pass.
The other day I was in Devon and I discovered the A379 - What a wonderful drive, from Elburton to Teignmouth.

Has anybody else recently found a, lesser known, fun driving road?

A816 between Oban and Lochgilphead.

Drove it the other week. The lady on the hotel reception warned me that she hated the road and had lots of nasty bends. I thought it was brilliant. Mostly well sighted, sweeping bends, tight hairpins, uphill and downhill sections. A great road.

That looks like one to try if I'm ever north of the border again - I've visited Oban but I arrived, and left, on the A85.

A698 Brampton to Alston - gateway to some of the finest driving roads in the country (North Pennines) but infrequently mentioned

Drive that road a couple of times last year, fantastic route! Just wish I'd been on the bike instead of the family SMax...

Agreed. And do stop at the Kilmartin museum once it is open again (2023...).

I've driven that road for fun many, many, many times.

Still wish Wales was closer however.

The A272, stretching from Winchester, along the South Downs, right to Heathfield, East Sussex. Discovered it quite recently and what a gem! Plenty of quaint villages, hilltops, and valleys to enjoy.

It's a modest little road in south Wales; the B4300 from Carmarthen to Ffairfach. It's fairly flat, fairly straight, has a few speed limits but each time I've driven it I've thought, "That was nice..."

I often drive from Alderley Edge towards Holmes Chapel on the A535 around Jodrell Bank and I always enjoy it.

I misread that as the A282 - which must people’s least favourite road.

Got married near there, in Dryslwyn. It's not a bad road at all.

I recently 'discovered' the B4329 over the Preseli Hills which is probably well known as a driving road but was new to me.

.....and I was just about to vehemently disagree with you, until I realised where the A282 goes

Unfortunately overpopulated by people who think they are far more talented than they really are, especially on any given sunny weekend. Which now results in the enforcement now found on it, including noise cameras.

It was my regular route from Somerset to Kent in the early 1970s before the M25 opened and occasionally afterwards. Even then there were some total dheads on it and delays at all the junctions with major north-south roads sometimes made it tedious.
