Spanish Road Trip - Road recommendations?
Discussion
Hi guys
Having followed a lot of great road trip threads in the past I'm wondering if the pistonheads faithful might be able to sort a few recommendations of roads not to miss on this route.
I'm coming into Bilbao on the ferry from Portsmouth and heading to meet friend in his car down in Valencia.
We've got two days at Jerez planned to piss around with our cars and a couple of radicals, so the plan is to meet in Valencia then head round the coast to Jerez stopping in Almerimar, Malaga and Cadiz. The general route between hotels is below - If anyone knows any great roads that we shouldnt miss between points I'd be all ears!!
Thanks very much for any recommendations people have

I can recommend a cross country route from Logrono to Valencia. I mentioned it in another thread 'Spanish Roadtrip'. Hopefully the link below to the tread works.

This is a link to the route I mentioned on google maps:

I drove the following route from Bilbao-Cordoba-Murcia over two days in July:

While my trip is not an exact match to your return, I'd highlight the A346/348 round the edge of the Sierra Nevada. It would probably work for you from Almeria to Granada. Depending how long you are in Almeria, the AL-3102 from Tabernas to Velefique is spectacular. I have only cycled that road, but intend to revisit it in something faster. Henry Catchpole drove it when reviewing the new Z4 on Carfection, if you fancy a preview.
Finally, the N502 all the way from Cordoba to Avila is a nice route if you want to avoid the motorway.
Enjoy the trip.
(Edited to show the correct google maps links with way points)

Sorry I missed your original post. My dream is to drive from UK to Spain and explore some great roads and culture.
I was there last summer, albeit in my little Fiat Panda hire car, but can recommend the CV715 near Calpe for a good road. A bit narrow in places but amazing scenery and good fun! A lot of the roads around there are brilliant but best to set off fairly early as it seems to be a cycle testing ground when the sun rises.
