Bit of a rant
I moved to Birmingham like 6-7 months ago and the problem is that is the same location as the M6 and because of my job I have to use it regularly.

What a st show to be honest. It’s not even the traffic it’s the way it was designed? I’m talking about the very famous Spaghetti junction (6) up until Junction 11-12 and then roadworks forever.
But back to the spaghetti junction. The way it was designed is just very poor in my opinion. The way that it joins the M6 is just asking for trouble. Every joining lane has two lanes but just before the motorway it turns into 1 lane and it obviously bottlenecks. This results in both the motorway being blocked and the slip roads. And this happens every single day! ( obviously people crashing or catching fire doesn’t help at all).
Before moving here I was in Nottingham and the M1 is bad sometimes but not as bad as this one.
Is the toll road the only alternative?

Given that it opened 24 May 1972, ~50 years ago when traffic ~40,000 per day and the latest numbers I can find for are for 2012 are ~210,000. So I guess it may be just a bit too small now.

It's those chuffing expansion joints that do my head in BANG BANG BANG all the way through that section

Toll road for me every time these days
