Good roads within 30 miles of Oulton Park

Hi

I need to plan a run out from Oulton Park for a dozen or so cars, up to 2.5-3hr and probably 100 miles or a little less.

I'm not from the area so struggling for ideas. I originally planned to go into Wales when the run was going to be a full day but Oulton have changed to access times so now will just be a half day.

What time and day are you going to be doing it?

At busy periods the A51 heading to Chester will back up with traffic, as will the A494 into Wales.

Midweek during the day that should be ok, although a little bit dull in parts until you get to Wales.

If it were me I'd head up to Bakewell, I'll do a bit of thinking for a bit of a route.

I used to live around the area, some "ok" roads but most are 40-50mph now with trucks etc.

Leek to Buxton
Buxton to Whaley bridge

Some good B roads near Wrexham way and Ellesmerr. Otherwise get into North Wales Ruithin way as fast as posssible. The Peak is obviously good too but quite a bit of Traffic getting round Conglyand Macclesfield.
Depends on your cars. Something g small and light then stick to B roads
