Usually on my commute I go from Point A to Point B and skip most of the main roads. The main roads are ridiculously busy because of the existing road closures however the ones in red I drew are being put in place soon. I can't help but think this is now just going to make things worse? E.g. now I'll be late, causing more emissions sitting in traffic, use more fuel, and probably be slightly more grumpy which is not good. I can't think of much benefits apart from cyclists getting through and residents having quieter roads. I'm sure some residents hate it as well because they take longer commuting and getting their deliveries.

What are your opinions on these road closures? Do you support them or do you think some vegan cyclists got hold of council road planners?

Personally I'd walk or ride a bicycle. Looks hardly any distance at all.

How long is the drive normally without the closures?

You drive less than 0.5 miles to work? I think you might be part of the problem!

According to Google maps it's a 10 minute walk

Don't think I made it clear, I start at A and end up at B, and then drive about 3 miles after point B. If that was my commute I wouldn't even have a car! But I definitely need my car, I'm a delivery driver

Would've been winning if I could get through all these no through routes frown . I deliver food, parcels and groceries so I would consider my use of a car as good, my car fits quite a few parcels and groceries. Hoping they reverse these changes. Confuses me as often in Bethnal green I don't even need the map as I know these streets from memory, but now suddenly there's a plant pot!
