In my youth I worked on the western outskirts of the Birmingham conurbation, it's fairly easy to get out into Shropshire and the Welsh borders for some agreeable roads.

That area just about includes the B4437 from Burford to Charlbury. This is the road Harry Metcalfe uses in every road test on his YouTube channel.

B6047 from Melton Mowbray towards Market Harborough is a nice flowing road.

Yes, have a look in the thread ‘Where’s your favourite bend or sequence of corners’ - Lincolnshire has some amazing B roads which I’ve posted about. Where are you based?

A Rutland Water jaunt would be doable - could do Melton - Oakham - Normanton - Stamford and head up to Grimsthorpe Castle and back. So many good B roads in Lincolnshire you might want to try a few more.

Caffeine and Machine near Stratford might be worth a look as a coffee stop.

Or you could avoid it. IMO, the only good thing about C&M is the idea.

I've not been to be honest. What was it about the place that you didn't like?

Quality of food, huge number of people, chavs, burnouts, lack of respect for others.

I've only been once, in the early days, and I understand the owners have got the tts under a little more control now, but I've no interest in going back.

It must have been bad then. I will see for myself some time.

Just checked the reviews and they seem good so might be worth another trip.
