Hi. Any advice on best route?

Looking to travel from M1 at Leeds to Donington Park. Will be in a Cayman S with M3 in tow so ideally want to take in a nice drive rather than just shlep down the M1. Will be travelling first thing on a Saturday morning and ideally want a "spirited" drive on quick flowing roads. The more scenic the better and the odd narrower slower section is ok but generally want true driving roads.. That said we also want to avoid sections with loads of fixed cameras. Not planning to drive like an idiot or be at warp speed all the time but want to enjoy it without constantly being on edge..

Looks like exiting near Sheffield and then cutting down through the Peak District is a good option.

Which route would you take?

Cheers,

Ed

Nod it west at Barnsley, A628.

At Penistown drop down and round the back of Strines to A57, A616, A6187

Then Grindleford, Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne and then get on the A38. Overshoot the Southern Derby bypass (A50) but the aft your spirited drive come back up the A42 to CD from the South East.

Google maps reckons 42 mins longer than the normal route but what is that for hoots on Peak district Moors, Derbyshire Valleys and towns named after mans genitalk!
