Daughter woke me this morning for advice (I know, a 23 year old asking her know nothing father for advice, what next!!!!!)
Her and a pal had a spa day booked at whittle bury hall (near silverstone) and she was concerned about the drive..... blowing a gale all night here (junction 17 M25.) Rickmansworth.
She has a Mini ragtop, and whilst I don't suspect she intended roof down journey, I understood her concerns.
From here, it's M1 or M40 ( tho I know the 41 is an idea)
I've driven her car up to Luton airport via M1 before, and when the wind was picking up a bit, I had to hang on and avoid the artics swaying about.
Christ knows how bad it would be today for a young girl, albeit an excellent driver (drives with the confidence and mechanical aptitude of seasoned pro) in amongst the big stuff in a 'go-cart'.
Love her far too much to take the risk, so advised she tries to reschedule.
People could be killed in those conditions today......I don't want the phone call.

Very stormy, the worst I have known here in North Wales, but we are intact. It has calmed down now, but many local events were cancelled, as well as Sunday buses. The clue up here is to see if Bodnant Gardens are closed. They close when it is very windy, because of the risk of trees falling on visitors.

Very much the same here in Essex, it has been noticeable but not as bad at the forecast made me think. If I was down to work today I would have been ok taking a lorry out and driven too the conditions accordingly.Don't blame the OP though for sound advice to the daughter, if in doubt, don't bother
