On a run we usually take the horseshoe pass first then head over to Balla to get on the a4212.

However the A5 between these two is busy and hard to overtake on.

Any suggestions?

Also now the route from the triangle towards Caerwys is average speed, are there any interesting routes back towards the A55 and routes heading back towards Manchester?

Cheers!

Just Nav to Bala from Llangollen through Corwen. Great road when quiet. Alternatively do horseshoe then navigate to Ruthin. From here there us a great road that takes you to A5 and brings you to Cerrydigudeon . There is a road off here that is ok that takes you to Bala, not the normal one as if you were navigating from to Bala from Corwen. They aren't exactly direct but are great roads.

It's the b5105 from Ruthin then 4501 to Bala. Nannte Garth on way to Ruthin from Wrexham is is worth the detour, alone imo.
