What are these cretins up to ?

Approached the M25 on saturday expecting the usual 5 minute queue....It started 2.5 miles away. Both nearside lanes inched forward for an hour until 800 yards before the turn off when a road side sign showed both nearside lanes shut...with a long stretch of cones diverting traffic into the outer lanes.....nothing obvious happening in the vast expanse of nothingness in this closed off area and nothing on the overhead signs up until this complete and utter clusterf*uck other than telling people the M25 southbound slip was shut . ...fine but all traffic in that queue was heading north.

This stretch of motorway is apparently a smart motorway after years of roadworks.

Clueless.

M3 from J4 trying to join the M25 anti-clockwise at J2 has been a total f*ck-up for years - even before the M3 became "Smart" (allegedly)! Mainly because those "controlling" the "Smart" M25 had already created a queue by imposing a stupidly low speed limit before J12 on the M25, yet it was nearly always N/S/L from J11 onwards. furious

As I'm always heading for the A3 towards Tolworth I gave up using the M3/M25 years ago - the Motorways just aren't fit for purpose any more. It's quicker to use A Roads, which seems to make so-called "Motorways" look like a waste of time! And trying to pretend they are "Smart" is like pretending Diane Abbott ought to apply to join MENSA. rofl
