Thinking of doing a run to the Evo Triangle in the next couple of weeks. Does anyone know if the speed cameras are up and working?

Also any other ‘must do’ routes in the area?

Yes all up and working and now more if you head to the Evo via the 483 Wrexham way.

Do they cover the whole route?

I think it's only one side at the moment but they are planning to cover the rest in the near future (if they haven't already started).

Was there two weeks ago. signs everywhere, but cameras (and roadworks) only on the A543 side currently.

Download an average speed app on your phone.
I have one that you tap as you go under each camera and it resets to show average for that section.

You'd be amazed how much faster you can actually go (allegedly) and still maintain a 50mph average.

Personally I'd avoid the EVO Triangle, I only use it when I head to Llyn Brenig (lovely spot for a brew) for a coffee on my way home from a drive.

As said only one of the two sides has cameras (A543). There are many threads on this section of PH for decent roads around N Wales. Apart from that all I'd say, as always try and get out early, before the commuters/holiday makers etc have got up. Plenty of people on hols this time of year and of course farm vehicles, the roads will not be favorable for 'making progress' as the days goes on.

Stay safe and sensible thumbup
