Planning a trip to Anglesey mid September, anyone got advice on which route to take? Not so worried about getting to wales but having never driven through wales be good to know the best roads through.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

This was a great route once I got to Wales - boring getting to Wales but as soon as you cross the border it's awesome.

A nice cross country route as far as Droitwich that can be adapted to get you into Wales to pick up the above. It took me past Caffeine and Machine near Stratford on Avon. I used this 2 weeks ago :-

If you're up that way and you fancy a good drivers road you have to try the B4391 between Ffestiniog and Bala too - it is epic!

Swansea to Betwys-y-Coed taking in Black Mountain pass and some other essential roads :-

Some also posted in my "Wales on a Whim" thread in the "Roads" forum on here. I was doing these routes in a Cayman R and they were great roads in the main.

Another vote for the b4391 - it’s a must do. I always stop in Betws-y-coed for a pizza and hanging pizzeria and watch the cars trundle into the pay and display. It’s not far from the llanberis pass there too.

the pass is a great road but one of the few that always seems to be busy - get on it early!!
