Any advice / experience would be welcome.

Hit a pothole which has done £300 of damage to my vehicle. Logged a claim against Hampshire County Council who are refusing any compensation based on the fact that the damage occurred less than 48 hours after they were alerted to the pothole. (They are claiming defence under Section 58 of the highways act 1980).

Pretty frustrated to be honest. Does anyone have any advice/experience of anything similar and how to progress towards a better result please?

Thanks

Just under 1k worth of damage to my car due to pot hole, I'm taking it to court. Good luck, it will take around a year I'm advised.

My advice do the same, althoughni am of the opinion if it had just appeared then fair enough, but in my case a whole section of road was damaged, got witness statements from people who live on the road stating no work on the road in 2 years!

Who me ?

Google streetmaps might just be the answer. I'm waiting for a payment from County on pot hole damage, and when I did a streetmap check on the location, a juicy large pothole at the location hove into view from a month earlier. They'd failed to find and repair a pothole, as per the county requirements.
