Pyrenees to Alps dilemma
Discussion
Hi All,
Planning a road trip for early July and would be interested to hear if anyone has done similar.
In a nutshell, thinking of getting a ferry to Santander, driving through the Pyrenees with a single stopover, then picking up from narbonne heading to the area round Nice. Stay there an extra day then head north, end up around Spiez. From here head down the Lugano, head over to some of the Austrian passes, then up to lake Konstanz.
Dilemma is, we’ve done a Pyrenees and a few Alps trips before, but no
Alps in Southern France. We’re trying to weigh up whether stitching this together will introduce too much tedious driving and if we’re better off just going to Calais and head by straight to the Alps.
We would like to experience the southern French alps and our proposed route picks up a number of decent passes. We’re capped at about 2 weeks.
So if anything he has done a similar route, I’d be interested to hear about it.
Cheers

We did the France southern Alps from the Tirol ... us are reversing this .. these are some remote and wild passes , the trip from the Pyrennes across the Camargue is flat and road boring but interesting towns.
