Im going to be driving from London to an area near Turin Italy (and back) in July this year.

Dose anyone know of some good driving roads on route through the alps ?

Ideally id like to drive to the foot hills of the alps in one day and then through the alps the next.

Im looking for something like the beginning scene of the original Italian Job film, (or better) minus what happens when going into a tunnel.

That exact piece of Italian Job road is only a short detour from the direct route to Turin. It also has the advantage of missing out the long and boring Mont Blanc tunnel.

The road is the Petit St Bernard Pass which starts in Bourg Saint Maurice smile

we might see you out there we-re going in 3 car from the 12th to the 19th July.

We're heading out to do as many of the passes as we can.

I'll see if my friend has plotted our route. We're heading down from Manchester via the channel tunnel to Reims on the first day

SP50 Colle del Nivolet (Coach scene at the end of Italian Job).
It's a dead end (which means you get to do it both ways) but stunning views.

Not too far north of Milan you've also got the Simplon pass and Andermatt loop.
