We've had a letter from the Council/Contractor saying that a road between my house and the main road is likely to be closed tomorrow. I need to go somewhere tomorrow so I was going to park the car on the other side of the blockage tonight and walk to it in the morning. However I don't want it (XK conv) on the roadside overnight if it can be helped.

Then a neighbour said that contractors have to let you drive out if you want to (ie through the works), but not back. Is that true? If so the car can stay safe tonight.

Thanks

ETA problem solved for tonight as I've managed to blag my way onto the drive of a complete stranger smile but I'd still like to know the answer as the contractors will back on Friday and even the borrowed drive will be affected then.

I tend to find the highways chaps really helpful, just move it before they start work.

I can, but I'd prefer to avoid having a vulnerable car parked on a busy road overnight if possible. I don't know what the insurance position would be if someone drove into it as it's not at my address (and wouldn't want to have to claim anyway)
