Driving Road Near Plymouth?

Hi,

After some last minute driving routes. I’m staying in Plymstock for a couple of days and have the car with me so fancy heading out for a drive. Is Dartmoor the place to go? I’m guessing anything after 9am is pointless?

Thinking I’d try and head for a drive Thursday, or Friday and thinking head out about 6am before the crowds.
