Thanks to whoever gave the headsup about dash cams in Austria, I am now in the process of re-doing the last two thirds of my trip to A. minimize my time in Austria and B. avoid Switzerland altogether. I have been to Switzerland before and imo the roads and views are no better than other parts of Europe that are less hostile to drivers than Switzerland is.

3000 mile, 11 day trip starts on the 19th June.

We're setting off a few days behind you on the 22nd. 8 cars doing France,Germany, Austria, Italy, France and home. 2500miles over 11days plus the bit this side of the channel. Think we were just behind you in the pyrenees last year as well.

What was the Austrian dash cam info?

I am contemplating a similar trip next year.
Germany,Italy to Riccione then across to Viareggio then back through South of France.
Would you mind telling me your itinerary.

There was a thread on here where they quoted a 1000 euro fine first offence and 2500 euro second offence in case you didn't learn your lesson. I can't find it just now but here is a link which gives some info. The implication is that "publishing" is what gets you into trouble. All the same, I'll be removing mine for the Bavarian/Austrian section. Shame really as there could be some good movies to watch in the dismal parts of winter.

Google threw up a few links. Think ours will be staying in the cases for that section. We're passing straight through on one day then doing a small loop into Austria the next from Italy so not a big portion of the trip.

If you see 3x Fisher Furys, an RCB an Elise and a GT85 (+a couple of mx5s the first few days) give us a wave.

At 1st, I was 70% sure that the human rights guy was joking but now...
