A write up of a trip from the south east UK to Maranello, Italy. What began as a set of notes to share with family, developed into a full-blown website. If it offers a few pointers or do/don'ts for those planning something similar, I'll be a happy man!

Great write up. Was out there doing many of the same passes only 3 weeks ago in our Porsche. Have to agree about Susten Pass. Nufenen Pass also one of our favs.

Great stuff, haven't read it all yet but I will do shortly. I am doing a similar trip in September, not quite a Ferrari 360 but should still be fun in my BMW 335i. I have done it before in a TDI Skoda and that was great fun!

Fantastic write up, many thanks for taking to time to share. Looks like a great trip, we did something similar last year in my 147 GTA. There is something special about taking an Italian car back home!

Was interested in your hotel recommendations as I'm off to Como next year in my Bullitt Mustang, can't wait!

Thanks again,
Darren

We stayed at Como this July, and can highly recommend this B&B:

Thank you for posting that.

It may well be a few years before my wife and I go on hols without the children so I will have to keep my near identical 360 to replicate the trip you have just done.

I also use Migliore in Bromsgrove and have visited several places you did on your trip.

I also had the same reaction to the train ticket lady to go to the top of the Jungfrau going over the glacier on the zip wire at the top was great and me and the two kids did it, kids were 8 & 5 at the time, I think....

Once again thanks for sharing and I am glad you've had a great trip.

Many thanks for the kind words guys. I originally wanted to paste it in to a thread here but once I got started I realised I'd created a bit of a monster. It would've been the longest post in history!

Thanks again

Thanks for posting , it made a very enjoyable read over lunch in the office. I am going to take delivery of a new Cayman S later this year and would like to do a european road trip down to the Italian Lakes possibly Spring or Autumn next year so the tips will be useful!

Have done just that the past two years in our 981 Cayman S, so feel free to ask (pm).

That was a great read - I thought i would only quickly click on it and then go to sleep ..... Read it beginning to end - very good effort and sounds like an amazing trip. Makes me want to go for a drive to hear the engine sing

Thank you for taking the time to put this together

Many thanks. Now we just need the opportunity to take it back to Italy again. Fingers crossed for the second half of 2021.

I’m toying with the idea of buying a 430 and if I do, it will absolutely be going to Italy (and beyond) so googled ‘Ferrari road trip Europe’ and there it was. Cracking stuff.

My original post went up some time ago. We recently traded the 360 against a California and I'll be certain to have another crack at this stuff once we're able to take the new car across to Europe. Many thanks for the kind comments smile

Nice one! I obviously had to bin my Italian trip this year which properly pissed me off no end, I was using your trip as a template and had a pretty good idea of what I was going to do. bd bloody virus arse.

Got a pic of your California? Do share!
