Good evening

I am renting a Caterham in March to go to Goodwood from London.

Any recommendations of great (or good..) B-roads in the area? I am looking more for B-roads rather than A-roads... although am aware this is a big ask in this area, so open to all recommendations.

I have heard of the Abbinger Common > Forest Green and A285. Any others?

Many thanks

The B2126 starts at Abinger Hammer on the A25, not Abinger Common.
If B roads are your thing try this route - https://goo.gl/maps/hgttKsNye2G2

Many thanks for the Gmaps recommendation Red Devil. (and yes, that's correct re. B2126..).

The Leith Hill Rd and Abinger Rd from Abinger Common and through the forest look pretty good on Google Maps - does anyone know if there are in real life?

Below is the udpated Gmap, if it is useful to anyone:

Can highly recommend:
A272 from Petworth to Petersfield and the B2141 from Petersfield to Chichester
Plenty of other good routes round there to:
A286 from Midhurst down into chichester or the A285 Petworth to Chichester

Hollow Lane/Leith Hill Road/Leith Hill Lane (not Abinger Road: it takes you in the wrong direction back towards Coldharbour & Dorking) then right onto the B2126 will be fine. It's not quite as wide as the B roads though so will need a tad more care in a few places. It has a central white line throughout though so there shouldn't be any conflict with oncoming traffic.

Wimbledon was my home turf for 9 years before I met Mrs RD. Turned out that one of her cousins lived in The Grange. Unbeknown to each other we used to frequent the same local, the Dog & Fox.

Wimbledon is a great place indeed... easy access to London... easy(ish) access to decent the countryside (and B-roads!!) smile

whichever route you go, go early or you might just end up stuck behind someone else going frustratingly slowly.
