I am having trouble getting on line maps to give me some kind of indication of the length of time to traverse the Stelvio.

I drove this nearly 10 years ago in my TVR but cant remember the timings.

We will be en route to Innsbruck and I can get some indication from Trafoi to Innsbruck but not the SS388 bit from Bormio to Trafoi.

We will be taking it steady (in a motorhome) and it will be in the summer.

Any suggestions on timings?

Cheers smile

3 hours tops I would say with coffee and scenery break at the top?? I was too excited when I did it to remember correctly but we drove to St. Anton from there and arrived mid afternoon.

Cheers Jeff

My memory has dimmed with age and also that you lose track of time as well when doing it smile

By car it's a little over an hour drive if no traffic.
With a motorhome in summer taking some time to look at the scenery I'd plan 3 hours max.

Google maps won't give you routes / times for roads that are currently closed by snow. I've been trying to get similar info for Brig to Andermatt via the Furka, and it will only give me a route that takes an 8 hour detour!!

Had the same problem last year trying to plan a route via the Grossglockner.

You can try with viamichelin.com
IIRC you can choose whether to take into account closed roads or not
