Hello there,

We are heading to Europe (UK, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany) in early May for our Honeymoon and leasing a Citroen DS3 diesel to get around. We are spending a few days in Berlin and are staying at a fairly central Hotel which has parking for the car. I am aware however of the Enviro Zone that exists and the need to purchase a green sticker which goes on the inside of the windscreen when driving in the centre of town.

Does anyone have any experience of organising one of these stickers? Is it as easy as it sounds i.e pull into any service station and pay 5 euro and you are sorted?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Actually just noticed that http://www.tolltickets.com/country/germany/emissio... are selling these. I use tolltickets for my european driving so it may be worth sending them an email to see if it covers Berlin as well.

Usually quite easy to deal with thumbup

Cheers for that info. I have read a few other similar bits a pieces and it looks straightforward enough. Ideally I would sort it out before we started but with the car rego number I cant do much until we turn up.

I've been to Berlin x3 in the last 5 years. All in new metal (Saab, Mercedes, BMW) and never got a sticker or fine. Parked in hotel underground car parks. Was I just lucky?

Interesting!

I was kinda wondering how I would get on without it. The Hotel has underground parking (Circus Hotel) and once we arrive we will be using public transport/walking everywhere. 3 days later we drive out and straight to the Nurburgring so who knows if I would be caught...

When driving thru France down to Monaco just before Italy I had a Toll Tag given to me. You just leave it on the Dashboard and the Barriers open Automatically to allow you through. The TollTag is registered to your Car and an associated Bank Account and all monies are debited Automatically. Helps greatly and very quick almost instantly. I know it's not the answer to your Berlin question but you may be needing a TollTag for the Journey. The details can be found online as can the Berlin Permit. Just Google. Safe Journey, they got big long roads out there...
