Roads in germany

planning a road trip for 2014

I am trying to work out if there are enough good roads:


1. up to Hamburg, either from the south near Gottinger or from more NW around/near dortmund
2. between Hamburg and Berlin
3. between berlin and Dresden


lastly, is the romantic road good for fast driving or is it just scenic ?

I can't say I know North Germany all that well, but it's AFAIK
pretty flat country. Except for the lovely autobahns, I am unaware
of any decent roads.

The Romantic Road, I have been on various chunks of it over the years
and I can't remember much about it, so that probably means it's a
bit boring.

The interesting roads are further south, in the Black Forest, Upper Bavaria
and Austria.

Ok thx, yes i know BF and Austria rather well. Just need to work out if we try and make a hamburg-berlin-prague-vienna arc work. I can see a few nominations on bestbikingroads.com but there really might not be enough there to make up a proper 4 days of amazing roads.
