Staying with the OH at her parent's place in Bath over the weekend.

She's working today, so I'm at a loose end....

Anyone care to suggest a few good roads nearby that I could string together into a hour or so? Had a look at Google maps and nothing has jumped out at me so far (although I usually have the Peak District on my doorstep, so I might be a bit spoiled hehe )

B3098 from Westbury to Earlestoke is one of my favourite roads.
You could use A36 coming from / to Bath which is good for an A road.

Mate, take the A368 all the way to Burrington Coombe and then blast up through the coombe itself - my favorite sunday morn blast for many a year!!

Noted for the next time we're down there, thanks chaps. I ended up doing a little loop down to Wellow (sp?). Too tight and poorly sighted for my liking.

I quite like the road from the M4 to Bath when its (rarely) quiet, some nice fast sweepers there, a little uninspiring though!

A lot of the roads locally are like that. Next time head for Cheddar Gorge. When it's quiet the roads out there are quite nice and the gorge itself is nice if you get a good run up the hill.

Also slot in the B4040 which runs from Yate east towards Malmesbury. Good technical road being spoiled by speed limits along the open stretches.
