It seems that it is that time of year where there are lots of these springing up.

Is there a reason for it? As I can't go anywhere locally without getting held up by these lights, at holes in the ground with no road workers present.

Well, obviously, safety smile, or possibly contractors are 'forced' to charge the Highways/council more in order to 'provide a safe working environment for their operatives'. I passed one set today, a quiet residential road, maximum 30ft. lane closure on one lane, 5 cars waiting for ages, nothing coming the other way.

I've seen them where the only obstruction in the carriageway seems to be the actual lights, generator etc. and signs biggrin
