Tbh most of the Tuscan roads are special, the place where we stayed last time (castello de Meleto) had some truly unreal roads.
What I liked was it all felt safer than the alps passes which could have sheer drops and random icy water on parts of the road.
Drivers paradise!
Absolutely agree What I liked was it all felt safer than the alps passes which could have sheer drops and random icy water on parts of the road.
Drivers paradise!

Second this. The road from the Siena area to Volterra was pretty special, as were the roads around Montalcino/Montepulciano.
in that area I would strongly recommend this road from San Gimignano to Volterra, possibly on an early morning and not during a weekend: http://goo.gl/maps/IGGT1And as said in many posts the roads around the Mugello are pretty special too (Raticosa and Futa Pass above all).
