Heading off on a drive down to Italy next weekend : O,this is the route im thinking of taking,any advice suggestions best places to stay etc would be much appreciated.

Cannes
Monaco
Bologna/Modena
Stelvio
san bernardino
Villingen schwenningen
baden baden
Stuttgart
Nurburgring

we were going to do paris on the way back, but would have cost a fortune so didnt bother in the end. plus tolls
