European Road Trips - Collection of write ups & experiences
Discussion
I have seen an increase in the number of people asking about European road trips this last week & thought it would be a good idea if there was one central thread with links to write ups of peoples trips. I remember when I was researching for my trip it was hard to find a good write up & then I would always forget to bookmark it
So here are a few links to get us started:

Great idea, and nothing like wasting time reading someone else's road trip and pictures!
Here's mine from 2010, with a gaggle of Lotus and one Porka doing the 1955 Mille Miglia route.

Loved reading about all the hire car adventures, very tempted to do something similar.
Anyway, here is another good well detailed writeup that I have just found of a group of 911's on a Euro road trip

Hi Johnboy, looks like a very good trip that you have planned. As for scenic routes back From Italy, I am happy to share the route that I took on the way back from my trip.
I see that you are interested in the Italian Lakes, I stayed at Garda for a couple of days, me & the wife really loved it there.
After Garda, I headed to Davos, this was via the infamous Stelvio Pass.
Then it was from Davos to Andermatt via the San Bernadino Pass, we also did the Furka & Grimsel passes the same day.
Then it was Andermatt to Baden Baden in Germany. We stopped off at Lucerne which is a lovely town, then we drove through the Black Forrest, the route we took was Wehr to Todmoos to Todtnau to Oppenau to Ruhestein and finally to Baden Baden.
From Baden to Baden we drove to the Nurburgring.
The final day was Nurburgring to home.
I hope that is of some help to you.

Here's another from me, The highest public roads in Scotland, England and Wales, driven non-stop back-to-back in a day.
I actually had not realised until I read your link that I had driven the highest roads in Wales, England and Scotland. I had a feeling when I was clicking on your link I might have done but before then it had not even crossed my mind.Roastie ITR said:
