Hi, My husband has finally given into temptation and bought himself a Nissan GTR. For christmas I would like to have arranged a driving holiday for him and myself, from South Lincolnshire to around Europe for one week. Can anyone out there advise on possible route's, scenic and obviously fantastic driving experiences are a must. Alternatively, should I surprise him and book us on the Cannonball run? He did it a few years back, and I know he would love to do it again. Any advice would be appreciated! Hails

There are quite a few topics on this kind of thing (including maps and routes), for example:

As much as it'd be a driving holiday, you'll not want to spend 6+ hours in a car every day, eat, sleep and then get on the road again. We stuck to around 200 miles a day when we went and it worked out between 3-4 hours depending on roads, which allowed us time to see the towns we stayed in.

Off the top of my head, I'd do:

Brugge or Gent
Luxemburg
Stuttgart (Porsche & Merc Museum)
Stelvio Pass (Amazing roads in this area, shut during colder months, best to check!)
Lake Como, Italy
Champaign region, France

7 days might be a squeeze, but possible, as I'm sure the GTR will eat up the motorways! Or maybe do it over 9, so you can stay over a few nights in Como.

ETA: Think I've just planned our euro trip route for next year!
