awesome stuff!!Just watched my video of this it is disappointing - I may not be as stuck on La Stretton as you boys 
, but she was a better presenter, for sure.
The commentators struggled a bit with the GT format ,and I do NOT appreciate British GTs being commentated by a yank (no offence to yanks, but it's a British series). Will Hoy I've seen commentating on something else before (Elises?) but he seemed kind of subdued.
Oh well, as mentioned above the footage of Shorty's battle for second was great, and at least there is some coverage this year, whereas unless you've added to Murdoch's millions you can't see the Tuscans on screen

Anyone notice, right at the start of the race, going into the Second corner, the yank commentator said "Saleen in first, then the Lister, followed by the TVR Tuscan....."

OK, it was probably just a slip of the tongue but come one!!! It's Big, Purple and has 27 on the side, you can hardly mistake it and the Brightly coloured tuscans!!!

.The "sodding Yank" you chaps are referring to is (I think - I was in bed at 7am on Sat) Rob Murphy, the GT Championship co-ordinator. Short bloke with glasses, right? He used to race FFords for a friend of mine and has lived in Britain for many, many years. Yes, he irritated me a little at the first team managers meeting by referring to car numbers rather than team names - very NASCAR - but I understand he's a good bloke.
He used to commentate on the occasional ALMS race on Eurosport and you always got the impression that he was struggling a little with the footage, or that he was watching different pictures to the viewers.
I have to say, though, I do like to hear an English accent when I'm watching an English Championship on English TV...

Not to forget the classic Americans commentary of "And there goes Jamie David in the Ferrari" (Davies...corrected by Will Hoy), to be followed by " "and the driver change is between 25 and 40 minutes" (make that 20 and 35 minutes).
7am, 3 commentators that know best part of *** all about GT racing. Accepted Will may remember some but he's hardly a fresh face in GT racing. Poor old Darren Turner in his new TV role looks like a very big McLaren test driving fish out of water, and as for the American...
To be fair though, even though they did miss a large part of the Shorty battle with Tim Sugden, and did follow a technically superior Saleen droning round for too long, it wasn't a bad program. The 7am slot is the biggest disgrace....but is it where it deserves to be? Is GT racing destined for the dustbin? Are Channel 4 and the 'Management' who are paying for it deciding that they should quietly let it die? Its the final year for the TV contract with Channel 4.

Well it wouldn't surprise me if GTon4 slipped away quietly after this year. I think the problem is that nag "racing" pays more. Irritating, because if betting was banned horse racing would die overnight.
The coverage itself (excluding Darren Turner) was really good. BHP's production was great and Rob was very enthusiastic, with Mr Hoy providing the James Hunt aspect. GT cars actually looked bloody fast on the TV for a change, which they have failed to do in previous years, and the highlighted nature of the show avoided the dull aspects of the race. Good commercial break timing, too.
You may complain, but it was far better than this weekend's GP will be (just looking at my tea leaves...). I think these days Martin Brundle pretty much holds the entire show together.
