Are we expecting anyone new at Thruxton this weekend? I think Chris Stockton is sitting this one out - is there anyone else joining in the fun?

I'll save James the trouble of posting - I believe Mark Johnston has secured funding to race this weekend.

I'll be there, hoping for more than 2 laps per race this time....

We're come along to cheer you on, mate. Can you post a pic of your car so I can show the Mrs who she's supposed to be yelling for. It'll be you and she's also got a soft spot for Rod ("Go on, Rod. Pass one!") Barrett who we bought the Chimaera off a few years ago...

First point quite understandable, the lady has class, style, and knows a great driver when she see's one, so please Don, don't spoil her day by asking her to support a newley hatched whippersnapper, who has no chance of getting anywhere near the great ace. The names smokin, that's 29 to you kid,

As for the comment about my "tubby" like figure, complete with "one" pack, well what can I say, how about this......................................

YOUR A DEAD MAN NO:6 yes, that's got a ring to it.

no:5, have you read this, if so smack him will you, and I'll let you qualify in front of me for a change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Andy,

I'm not sure about this; because Wayne and I are still working on this. May be Ted could organise a whip round from Pistonheads members. I have been talking to a several TVR dealers and I do have one suprise up my sleave! If you know Andy; don't tell anyone. It would be a great loss if Mark lost his drive due to budget!

On the subject of Mr Barrett; 1st class fellow who has also funded two 1st class drivers. Not only that he recorded a quick time mentioned elsewhere.

However we will as ever be cheering you on! I even have to be Brands Hatch the same weekend!!

Ah you've been watching Ben '3 bonnets' Samuelson race then have you? it is also dependant on getting more than 2 laps into a race isn't that right Andy

Ah, 29 - falling for my psychological warfare so easily?!! I thought the force was stronger with you

You missed the obvious response about Tuscan races traditionally being run over 8-12 laps, not 2.....

I'll let you know if I ever manage it.

I am currently favourite to win the TVR Tuscan Challenge Concours competition. I get to sit out for 8-10 laps of the race which gives me more time than the other drivers to polish the shiney bits.....

No.29

Please refrain from involving me in your petty disputes.

Us Sharp Ender's don't need to spout off how good we are.. everyone just knows it anyway :-)

If I choose to qualify in front of you I most certainly will, on the other hand I may just back-off that little extra (again) and just follow you round the track... it's so much more fun watching someone spin in front of you and then waving at them!!

No doubt you will be seething at my mention in this coming weekends' brochure... can't help it.. just bloody famous.. and a front-runner

C U there

No.5

BTW Slap No.6 yourself... I have far too much to do (but tickets may be sold for viewing at £5 each)

OB6canotB, listen well and learn. The force is a great power and must never be used for personal gain, look what has happened to Darthphelan, his head looks like a bellend and he's gone "insane" be warned OB6canotB, for I am "THE MASTER"

p.s The first one to try and add "BATER" to the above is a W**KER, ah, sharpend, that's your que!

My que?

A retort is not necessary... apart from did I mention 6th place?

Master Bates (yep I had to say it) you battle well, but your powers diminish as the light gets stronger.

Sleep now, for you need your energy to be strong at the weekend (if you want half a chance of keeping up with me!)

Kindness and regards from the true master of the tuscans.. he who is 6th place (did I mention that?)

Boys...if thread is half as much fun as the race..its going to be an absolute belter.

Amazingly - we wish you ALL the very best of luck. Why? Because the closer fought battle the more of hoot we will have.

Rod. Go on mate: Pass one! (More would be better! ) The Mrs will no doubt be cheering you on, sir...
Andy: We will try to find you and wish you luck...you are an example (gentleman racer indeed) to us all. Maybe one day I will emulate your bravery...

That's very kind of you Don. I should be easy to find. I'm normally parked up in the pit lane approximately 3 minutes into the race

Our awning is easy to identify - its the one with more Tuscans than anyone else - Nos 5, 6, 7, 28 and 38. More often than not you'll find 29 in there too, scabbing a cold beer

I'm not sure I am totally comfortable with the title 'Gentleman Racer'. Naturally I 'live by the code', I open doors for ladies and I rescue stranded kittens from trees. I am also partial to a pre and post-race Gin and Tonic, and have been known to attend circuits fully equipped with crushed ice and slices of lime (one should do these things properly or not at all). However the term suggests I may be Rodney-like in age, and that simply won't do

However, in my new career as race driver, international playboy and jewel thief, its good to know I am making progress in some areas. Even if it is only 2 laps worth of progress....

Thank you Don for the kind words, I wish I could pass no:6, but that would mean that I would have to fake my normal brilliant start so I could drop all the way back to where one finds no:6.Then overtake him without smacking the front of my car, due to his habit of braking at the 500 board, the rest of us use the 200 mark!!except no:5 who uses the 75 post on account of his very low speed,I ask myself, "Is it worth It" On thinking further, all I need do is wait 5 or 6 laps and I'll lap the pair of them

A little Tuscan song:

29, he lapped 5, what's a chap to do if the man can't drive, with a nic nak phelan sick, give the man a DOME,his old diff won't get him home

29, he lapped 6,the poor little chap was shitting bricks, with a nic nak at the back, give it up, go home, 29 in a class of his own

P.S Unlike some so called Tuscan racers, I'm not "down the pub" but at home with my darling wife, paying attention to her every word, making tea, watering the garden........... and sneaking in the odd game of SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals, Mega!!!!!

Well watching the races on video last night was interesting.

In Race One that nice Mr Three Bonnets seemed to do a couple of tours post accident, sans oil cooler. I wonder what happened to the oil that used to be in the cooler? To be fair, with 44,000 people there it was quite difficult to find somewhere to park, although there was a space behind me in the pits, if you had the right pass

As for race two, well I will admit to using the pause button a few times and noting down those nice other drivers who obligingly spun in front of me under my relentless pressure (Messrs Persson, Osborn, Samuleson, Stockton). And those unfortunate drivers who simply could not keep pace and were fairly and squarely out paced by yours truly (Messrs Ross, Marshall and Wheeler).

It seems that in the heat of the moment I did not realise exactly where I was in the field - thinking I was in 14th place when I retired. Video evidence now confirms that it was in fact 12th place (and would have been 11th had I completed the lap as the nice Mr Hood obligingly parked up too).

Ah, what could have been.....

And yes Rodney, I am happy to admit I got nowhere near 29. Although when I was in 12th who was it in 11th? None other than that Phelan No 5 character.....
