Tuscans at Rockingham

Absolutely stunning - how many times did the lead swap?

Fantastic races and Lee Caroline won both. He is one of the greats. Also well done to Lee's new team mate and understudy Mark Johnston with 5th place in the feature race.

wow! i was there yesterday and the tuscan races were awesome, ive never seen tuscan racing like that! I was watching by the chicane and there was a lot to see.

but also i have to say the SEAT's were VERY VERY good FOR ONCE! at oulton they were piss poor but at the rock they were great to watch.

Rockingham is amazing, ive never been before and now i love at and will be going back next year and i might be going on the 24th of august just to see what an oval race is like. Top weekend, and all for just £1 (plus travel costs)

No offence to the growing army of Lee Caroline supporters out there but Phil if you read this site I'm sorry to say you lost the race, Lee didn't win it. You really deserved the win and were great in both races. You really needed to push him wide at the last hairpin (or better yet brake test him to slow him up ), we could see Lee wanting to turn in but you had the line on the last lap, if you'd ran a bit deeper and made him slower exiting the corner you could have held the lower line into turn 4 and made him run high if he wanted to pass.

Lee isn't shy at putting the car in the way about time some one else tried the same tactics, level things up a bit !!

Yes I do know what I'm talking about, 7th in 98, joint 1st in 99 (losing 1st on count back wins) 1st in 2000 and 5th in 2002 (+ rookie of the year) in the Tuscans.

I'm sure that Phil's 1st win will come this season good luck next time out

Hi Darren,

What do you mean Lee didn't win it? It was a great race; Lee only dropped back when David (Mason) tried to pass him on the inside. David's paint is on the rear of Lee's car! Lee drove on after the clash and caught Phil fair and square on the line. First people to congratulate Lee were Phil and Woody!

David has Lee's wheel mark on the side of his car..... not implying anything out of order on Lee's part for that - the drivers/stewards are there to argue that sort of thing

What I meant was pretty much what I said. Phil could and should have won the 2nd race, he had it in the bag if he'd been able to slow Lee up. Lee was always much quicker out of turn 4 on towards turn 1 (legacy of oval racing I guess) Phil lost it in that had he thought about it he would have known this and driven accordingly.

Lee did have a good race and would have deserved 2nd but he was IMO Phil who lost the race rather than Lee winning it (bit like Man Utd with the title several times!!)

I think all this points to a thrilling race at the next one. Hopefully we will have Mark up there as well so he won't have to hit other drivers anymore.
