WhooHoo!!!!!!

Justin beat Mark Webber to the F3000 title, and although Webber had poor reliability they were actually very well matched on pace.

I bet all the investors in Justin Wilson Plc are smiling
Does this mean Justin will have to give up his day job at Bedford Autodrome?

From Autosport.com
British Formula 1 rookie Justin Wilson has joined Jaguar Racing with immediate effect, replacing Brazil's Antonio Pizzonia from the German Grand Prix on August 3 onwards.

The 24-year-old erstwhile Minardi racer will partner Mark Webber for the rest of the season at Jaguar, as the Milton Keynes-based team has decided that Pizzonia has not done enough to keep his race seat. The Brazilian will be offered a role as reserve and test driver, but has yet to make a decision.

"We are delighted to have Justin join us for the remainder of the 2003 season in what is a richly deserved opportunity," said Jaguar Racing's managing director David Pitchforth. "In the Jaguar R4 we clearly have a competitive car and one that has helped Mark Webber secure 12 points, thereby taking the team to sixth place in the constructors' championship. With five races left on the calendar, it is critical that we are maximising our potential with two race cars."

LMAO i guess Mr Stoddart knew more than he was letting on when he said Justin should be in a better team with a more competitive car, before the race. Will they have to make the Jag into a limo now to meet his size!
Having said that Webber's a big fella anyway!

Good show Jag, 'bout time they got rid of Pizza, im sure Williams will have him back as a test driver, Pat Head swears the kids fast.

Pizzonia was the class of the field in british f3 the year before last, starting in sixth and searing off in to the lead.

he was clearly very fast but perhaps the pressure was too much for him - particularly as webber has done so well

I say give him a crack in the minardi and see how he does, it might suprise some people....

Pizzonia needed a booster cushion, he could never see over the top of the cockpit so god knows how he could find his apexes........oh he didn't, that's why he was slower than Webber.

At least Justin won't have that problem

Yep Justin Wilson deserves his break - his family have mortgaged everything for his cause - they live in next village, he is such a genuine, nice guy - all the best Justin

Of perhaps more interest to you PH'ers however - a bird from Justin's village is Playboy's September centrefold - she's a real corker...

Think Pizzonia is in the same boat as guys Ricardo Zonta, Marc Gene, Stephane Sarrazin and so on - obviously fast, but in true Grolsch fashion, SCHTOP! This driver is not ready yet....

Think Zonta did the Nissan World Series last year, but not sure what he's up to now. To be honest, I think more and more of these guys are going to head to CART, IRL, Nippon and the Nissan World Series, rather than tool around in 18th every weekend at the GP. Look at people like Kenny Brack and Christian Fittipaldi, and to an extent Jan Magnusen - made a nice career of racing Stateside ta very much.

Nicolas Kiesa (Danish). F3000 racer inherited the win at the Monaco GP support race in May when racelong leader Bjorn Wirdheim celebrated too early, allowing Kiesa to nip past him on the finish line. (Big Doh!)

About as funny as Mansell stalling the car on the final lap in Canada whilst cruising round taking the applause!

Did Wirdheim jump into the harbour after this?

Isn't Zonta test driver at Toyota? Ah yes - no better than early BAR!

Junquiero is recovering in CART, after losing his Williams drive of 2000 to Button! That must have been gutting after a year as test driver.. . .
