Wow, what a real race it was. I reckon there was more overtaking and real racing in this one race than there was in the whole of last season.
Barrichello did a great job to get the win, Kimi could have done better though. I also think David C did a great job, to fight back to 5th after losing part of the car early in the race, necessitating an extra (long) pit stop.
And Bernie appears to want to remove Silverstone form the calendar? . I expect he will use the issue of the spectator incident as ammunition, which I agree was not good, but there is usually a track invasion in Germany after the race.....Oh! I forgot that is OK because a certain driver is German?

Top race - superb!!
What really urinated me off though was this: It was the best race for years, it had drama, overtaking, a wierdo, some plucky fights from the Brit guys, Arnie - the full works. Yet every major new prgramme mentioned it almost as an after-thought. I wouldn't mind betting that more people watched the GP than some third-rate golf tounmament yet that was given precidence.
Not even a a mention for the poor chap who got killed in the historic support race!
Makes me mmmmmaad!

It was a simply superb race. Best race this century? Hmmm, I'll have to have a think about that but you might well be right there.
Great racing. How come drivers were suddenly able to overtake this weekend? Is it the circuit or some technical changes to the cars? Whatever it was, we want more!
The trouble with Ecclestone is that for him it is no longer about the racing. He has prostrated himself before the altar of the God of Mammon and is blinded to all else (Derestrictor - eat your heart out. )
I doubt he would consider "good racing" to be any more important than "good toilets". Both are desirable for getting the punters in, nothing more.

One simple answer - the Safety car, it bunched up the field twice and also everyone (except 4) pitted on the 2nd one and not every came out in the order they went in. Meaning faster cars behind slower cars = overtaking.
This is what always made CART racing exciting, they threw full course yellow flags at every incident and gave teams the opportunity to take advantage of the situation and pit.
Maybe it's something they should do in F1, any accident, oil spill, debris or nutter should bring out a full course yellow & safety car, bunch the field back up and give sneaky pit stop windows to the gamblers.
Fantastic race, didnt get to watch it but watcheed the highlights lastnight, and well i wish id pulled a sicky to watch it now! True racing going on, special praise to Toyota showing some speed in the earlier stages, and to McLaren for DC's pitstops and his fight to 5th.
JV and JB had a good battle, there was so much racing the tv cameras didnt know where to look.
As for that loony, if your gonna run anywhere on the track dont do it down the fastest part of the track - Hanger Straight when the cars do in excess of 180mph, according to the news hes in court this morning with aggrevated trespassing - what about putting 20drivers lives at risk too???? Welldone to that daring marshall who did an excellent rugby tackle, bravo!
