BERNIE SELLING RECORD HOUSE
2003-07-08 10:25:00
Bernie Ecclestone has put his London home on the market for a world record £85million.
Ecclestone bought the palatial property at 18 and 19 Kensington Gardens for £65million in February 2002. He has never spent a night in the house and bought it purely as an investment, according to The Mirror.
The house used to be two properties and housed the Egyptian and Russian embassies. But property developer Nasser Khalili had it knocked into one property and spent a fortune expensively refurbishing it.
The property has 12 bedrooms, a 35-metre swimming pool and a gym, as well as a ballroom and picture gallery. It even boasts a cinema room and hair salon plus parking for 20 cars.
The £85million price tag is believed to be the highest ever placed on a property in the world, although the likes of Microsoft founder Bill Gates have spent more money building houses from scratch.
Hang on! - parking for 20 cars??!! I'm telling you, Minardi is just the start!!!
