Cheap Cheap Motorsport
Discussion
I went to watch some stock car racing yesterday, and thought i should get a hobby.
So, any ideas on the cheapest way into motorsport, i'd like it to have some kind of competitive element, so lawn mower racing is out.
There was an f2 stock car for sale at £595.
Did i mention it must be cheap?

Have a look at Autograss racing. Bit like rallycross/stock car racing but with cheap cars on grass fields.

It's an arrive and drive go-kart series using 2-stroke karts (serious stuff). An 11 round championship costs about a grand. You don't need a kart or licience and they'll even supply you with kit.
I know a few people who have done it and love it!
Cars are king but for cheap thrills, karting doesn't come much better!

simonelite501 bought a Dutton for less than a grand which we are sprinting in selected rounds of the ASWMC championship this year. its cheap but its soooo much fun! it was an amazing rush at the first event and I cant wait for Castle Combe on the 5th July. so we were thirteen seconds off the pace...pah, who cares!!

come on .. www.racemower.co.uk/ is awsome. looking forward to the 12 hour endurance races.
checkou www.shortcircuitmag.com for short oval tarmac racing, they've got a pretty good classified section if you want to progress into tarmac short ovals (which some formulas are VERY cheap)
