The pre qualifying testing times at Le Mans have been posted on DSC and I'm afraid it's bad news for TVR fans.

The 2 De Walt/Racesport cars, who do not appear to have been a part of the PM session, occupied the last two spots on the time sheets, the Stanton/Hay/Barff car ahead of the Sugden/Caine/Jordan car. The cars where 22s and 32s repectivly off the GT class leading #81 "The Racers Group" Porsche's pace.

These are, however, only testing times and not neccesarily a true indication to race weekend Performance.
All the best to the Team, I'm sure they will do fine.

Let’s try and fill in some Test Day holes.

TVR had a nightmare Sunday. Tim Sugden had the engine let go in #92 TVR T400R, and after a replacement was speedily fitted, that failed too. With a failure in the other car too, the yellow and black machines were marooned in 55th and 56th spots.

...three engine failures in one event doesn't exactly fill you with confidence though does it.

I am bitterly disappointed for them

What ? Is that true ? They all looked confident when I was forced out. What a nightmare. I left at something before 11 and the no 91 car was doing its laps. Hugh Chamberlain was interviewed and I heared the interview near the car park. He said that there were niggles with the no 92 car. This was convcerning a slight problem with the water pressure due to a small leak they didn't find up to that point. And now that news... I feel sorry for them. Christ, it only comes out if it's out. I hope they still made it.

Some other team, not supposed to be qualified have easily achieved all the laps required with good performances. Now, it's sure that some of these cars are goind to ask to kick out the TVR. Only the race comitee can decide, but, I'm afraid that with what they showed last sunday, with pressure from other teams, they could think that 1 TVR is more than enough.
So...we will see, but now, to think to have the 2 cars on the grid is no more realistic I think, and...to have no car at all is unfortunatly a possibility too.

Here is what www.lemans.org says: "...and although the TVR were the final two runners they will have learnt huge amounts and under the guidance from Hugh Chamberlain will retun in June better prepared to reward the loyal fans of the marque." So, I take it that they will be in.

The counter argument to that would be look at Sebring, 12hrs with barely a hitch. Bar a knackered battery the car ran faultlessly, it is acknowledged that Sebring is a much harsher track than Le Man. Until it is offically announced I’d say that both cars are in. Look at Panoz they too had their problems cuaing them to drop down the order…
