TVR vs Mosler
Battle lines are drawn in British GT testing
Discussion
Well done to CDL and Steve Hyde. They left it late to anounce th line up, so for a while a didn't think Steve had a drive. I know it's too early to read into anything but it's a really good start for the team in GT racing!!!
One more comment: With Richard Stanton being the second fastest man of the day what would they be like if they were still together like last season.

I know I'm going to risk having the you know what ripped out of me for saying this, but it's good to see that Shane Lynch is finally getting a bit of the good luck he deserves... especially after the humiliation of last year's Knockhill "victory" he and Ben (McLoughlin) suffered. Here's to a good season for the new Eclipse duo!

No backlash from me! Thanks for your support.
I don't think anyone says "bloody popstar" anymore, as Lynchy's proved he's actually damn good. Good feedback, great starter, doesn't crash, very consistent and can race hard when required. That points towards him being a pretty good peddler in my book.
We had some decent testing today, without bothering to go for a time, so hopefully that can continue throughout the weekend.
Steve @ Eclipse.

Finally, someone who actually doesn't laugh at the fact that I respect the man for his achievements. (Ok, I do fancy him, but that's beside the point!) It's about time the hard work paid off - for all the team! Having watched them struggle with the cars for a good few years (even prior to BGTC), the crew could do with a bit of the luck as well!
Spoke to him once (my sister was with us and she wanted a photo because he used to be in Boyzone) and he is a really nice bloke. Theres 14 cars on the list at DSC. Any news on the Ultima? Didn't see it on the test times list, anyone know if it is going to run? Hope it does, since they let me and my dad in the garage at oulton park last year, and its a beautiful car. Looking forward to a nice 4 or 5 way fight for the lead, should be a great race
im hoping for big things from the viper, well at least top 5, they were 7 seconds of the pace tody! which is quite substantial considering it is the most powerful car there and with very adequae grip and good braking, hopefully my theory that they were trying not to damage the car is corect!
Just read the test day report on DSC, and every car on the entry list (apart from the #77 Porsche) will be there and running on Saturday and Sunday. The Darrian is a bit strange. It can test, but the organisers won't allow it to race, probably because of the floorpan issue. Seems a bit silly to me, I'd try and get every car I could on the grid at the moment. Anyway, glad the Ultima and the second Morgan will be out. Could be a dark horse for GT Cup victory with Niel Cunningham driving.
I am calling on all Pistonheads readers to support the cause of Matt Manderson and his dnm team. For reasons beyond his control he may have to withdraw. Matt drove for me in 1999 in the works Darrian and deserves a fair chance. Belinda Edwards and the BRDC want the team and need them in the championship. Please check Dailysportscar.biz for the full story. (hopefully Ted will support their cause as well)

You would not believe HOW SILLY! I tried to reason with Tim Duffee, but he is causing trouble for dnm for reasons best known to him. It is a shame because this is the same Tim Duffee who told me we were having Matt drive the works car in 1999 in preference to two other experienced GT drivers! Please support the team even if they are not at Donnington this weekend!

One of the reasons Tim Duffee gave me why the Darrian could not race was because the rollcage was not safe, and he has told the BRDC this. Just read the DSC report and the rollcage, according to DSC, is made by a company of a PH member. Maybe that PH member will look into this and add further support to the dnm team.
PS Tim Duffee has declared this car "unsafe" however he has not even seen this car since dnm have prepared it!

sorry to rant on about this here!

Graham,
Spoke to Malc last night; thanks for supporting dnm and Matt. We were opposite them in the paddock; they looked the sort of team I wish I had in 1999 when I was with the works Darrian team. The car is well built and has to be the best example of its kind.
