I can't believe nobody's mentioned Aus' here yet. What a race - blindin'. best F1 race I've seen in years.
Best howeller of the weekend though came from Beverley Turner when interviweing that Aussie swimmer chappie in the pit lane: "so, how would you compare swimming with formula one?"
And to finish; a variation on an old joke: What does Kimi R use as contraception?....His personality!! (Bless.....)

Quite agree only saw the highlights and may watch the full race next time. Qualifying was dull as dishwater though.
Hopefully we will get racing back. I used to be a real fan of F1 (even getting up to watch the races live) the last year I didn't bother.
Good for the FIA and their new regulations lets hope we get more races like that.

You've obviously not seen Raikkonen's bird, then? Marks out of ten, etc...
It was a good race, but I can't help thinking the damp conditions helped at least as much as the new system. Qualifying, though very dull, did spring some surprises behind the front row, but the rain really sorted things out, as it has done in the past.
Raikkonen's move on Schumacher was brilliant: MS was just drawn into it, then left on the grass. Irritated me that James Allen tried to imply it was slightly below the belt, until Brundle corrected him.

I thought it was good too, but why did KR get a drive-through penalty?
Edited to add: Why on earth did the cameras spend so much time tracking MS when he was in 5th, not overtaking anybody and J-PM was knocking off record laps? Answers on a postcard to....

Apparently according to the official he was going 1.1kmh too fast for 10 metres of the pit entrance during his last pit stop.
Speed limiter was working but you have to get the car down to a speed where the limiter can take charge and keep the limit. Kimi was just too late/fast passing over the white line.

That's what everyone thought, but McLaren has admitted that it calibrated the limiter incorrectly, so even though Raikkonen hit the button early he was doing 1.1 km/h too many all the way down the pit lane.
Rather unfortunate, and it wasn't even his fault.

So that makes Ron Dennis look even more of a sourfaced tw@ than usual for his comments after the race about Kimi's penalty. Good! Tw@...
Top race though - nice to see a number of Wheel to Wheel moments - although I'd like to have seen Jenson take Villeneuve off the track for his childish behaviour in the pits.
Surely there should be something in the contract that says if he keeps doing crap like this he could get booted - The team must have a higher role than the driver?
FourWheelDrift said: Villeneuve did the same thing to HH Frentzen when they were at Williams.

Villeneuve left Williams to join a new team and has never won a race since, and let Dannii Minogue go. Is this bloke all there or what!!!!!!!
Hmm let me see - shall I pretend to be an elf for 24 hours at a time in an online rpg or should I go and spend hours with one of the nicest looking ladies around? (Really nice girl to chat to)
Me thinks that Mr V believes too much of what Craig Polock tells him - "Yeah Jacques, your the best looking guy around and obviously the fastest driver..."
Funny that JV has said stuff in the past about Michael Schumacher only winning because he's got the best car - kind of negates his own World Championship win a bit doesnt it

Unless the driver owns a stake in the team! Which I think he still does.
Thought, maybe prolonged exposure to peroxide has melted his brain cell!
kevinday said: Thanks for your earlier answers about KR's penalty. Unfortunately I get coverage in Hungarian which I only speak badly. What was the reason for JV and JB both pitting at the same time? I think JB would have been in front of JV otherwise?
Villeneuves excuse was he had radio problems and didn't clearly hear the pits instructions.
God help him when they ban pit to car radio's because he obviously can't see the pit boards!!!!!!
JV's radio was having problems because he was in the T car, so he had the third choice radio. Knowing there was a problem, we forgot to show him his pit board until the next lap, by which time it was a choice between having one driver run out of fuel 3/4 of the way round the lap, or having the traffic jam farce(Still, considering that it was an amazing pit stop by the mechanics). So it was a (one of several) team cock up really.
All the same, JB did look pretty grumpy on the telly afterwards...

How was the boss afterwards?
I believe Ken Livingstone is consultng with BAR (and others) on extending the congestion charge to F1 pit lanes.
As for Raikkonen's better half - most definately top totty. But I task anyone to convince me he'd of landed such a lovely lady had he stayed holed up in Chingford racing FRs? Great driver though!

Pretty upbeat really. We'd all be a lot more fed up if we'd come 9&10 as a result of fighting hard all the way from the back. As it was, we were there because we messed up several times, but fundamentally the car is good. I think we've gotten a few peoples attention at certain other teams who are thinking "where the hell did that come from?" about it!
Now all we have to do is stop fscking up!
