Well Ted having attended, and now woken up here's my comments re the event / race :- 1. Great business card on my windscreen when I got back to my trusty TVR - next time maybe a voucher for a pie as well? 2. Caterers packing up at 7pm - what's all that abouth then? 3. Loads of great TVRs in the 'special area', nice to see (and hear) so many, but just reminded me of time to upgrade from Chim to something noiser & faster ) 4. Lighting in the complex was *pants* - need to find a compromise between BTCC daylight lighting from earlier in the year and yesterday's blackout stuff 5. Oh and the racing was great (all except the Fistas...) 6. Not going to go to RollCentre for the headlight upgrade anymore - sorry Martin couldn't resist, but you've got balls to drive like that with 'reduced' lights... All in - top day/night Cheers Ian

Are you sure about the caterers? We got a burger and chips just outside Woodcote Grandstand (just across from all the TVRs in the car park) during the Minis, and when we came out during the GT cars there were still some caterers open. Agreed on the Fiestas - top marks for dedication to the drivers and teams, and they tried hard, but they were just too underpowered to be interesting. Ted - thanks for the card on the windoscreen, but didn't you see the Pistonheads logo I was already displaying inside by windscreen? Still - nice touch and great card. I agree about the lighting. We couldn't actually tell what was going on when night fell. Hate to be heretical or anything, but I think I enjoyed the day racing more. Anyway, great day/night - just a shame that no-one was with their TVRs for a natter. Mind you, we didn't get our lazy arses up there until about 2.15pm, so I guess by then everyone was watching the racing. Regards Jon 97R Chimaera 500

Great racing, a good day/night out. Ted, these events must cost you a fortune in busines cards!!!! Great to see so many cars there (although when I got there at 11am there were only 4 others!!) Just one note though, does any one know wich bugger nicked my valve caps i'd got stainless valves and caps on my S3 (H568 MPB) until someone decided they liked the caps!! (probably one of the 'max power brigade!!!'). But all in all a great day with great racing!!!

good GT race, glad the weather held out. Our crew lost a couple of dust caps as well in broad daylight under the powertour dome and suspected a couple of kids as they were spotted hanging about. A bit dodgy in the outside car parks, zero lighting and plenty of gorgeous cars about

It was a shame there was no lighting at Luffield, but full marks to the Tuscans for getting their lights to work. The start of the GT race was an amazing sight (and sound) at Copse.

I agree. There wasn't enough lighting to let everyone see what was going on. Even the commentator quipped that since he couldn't see the numbers on the cars he was making it up as he went along. Incidentally, does anyone know who the commentary team were - they were quite good, I thought.

BTW - does anybody know why the Hawthorns cars did so badly in the Tuscan races on Saturday? I can reveal why - its because their service dept. takes 3 weeks to diagnose and change an otter switch, so their race cars obviously lose lots of time in the pits. Boom boom (and not at all bitter). Jon

Ah... I missed your logo. Never sure if I'm preaching to the converted by leaving cards on cars at GT meetings!

As a Hawthorn's sponsor all I can say is..."Go on, Rod, pass one!!!". Maybe one day..still its good for a laugh. Ted's "Unaccustomed burst of speed" comment that time had me in stitches!

I feel left out - I didn't get a card!! Enjoyed the racing very much as usual, and in the Woodcote stand could see fine, although when the Tuscan R rolled to a stop by the pit wall I almost wished I couldn't. safety car enables a Lister win AGAIN. The only catering open at 9pm when we fancied bacon rolls and chips was the curry one, eating Thai curry and noodles with a plastic fork in a grandstand is a bit tricky!

Halcyon Atlantis Chimaera 450 I was glad the car park filled up during the day, it looked quite empty when we arrived at 12-ish. Always enjoy a good mooch looking at other TVRs.

It's already been on Sky. It should be this Saturday at 11am on C4 if they follow their usual scheduling but I haven't checked yet.

Personally I thought it didn't make very good TV being in the dark.

Just going back to earlier comments about Rod in the Hawthorns car, I happened to talk to him on the phone last night and we talked about the Silverstone races.

So that I don't get my wrists slapped for cross-posting, see TVR Tuscan Challenge > SILVERSTONE NIGHT RACE (www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=3332&f=38&h=0) for further details.

Rod also mentioned that the race was on Sky Sports 2 last night at both 18:30 and 00:30. I missed the 18:30 as I was broken down in my Chimaera at the time, but recorded the 00:30 one which I'll probably watch tonight. But as Ted has already said, I'm not expecting much as night racing doesn't really lend itself to being televised.

Regards
Jon
