But it's what he really, really wants - Viperman!
Cheque book racing is, I think, the bane of the sport. Sure it ain't cheap but many not so well off folk (and often highly talented) run themselves to near ruin to chase the dream and never get a shot at the big time - simply because they don't have access to the odd million or five!
A read through Perry McCarthy's book "Flat Broke" will highlight my point. If ever there was someone more deserving of a shot at the big league it was Perry.
I think the junior league formulae should be structured to allow only the top five or so to be granted the right to proceede up a formula so that the premier leagues be it F1 Touring Cars or whatever, is occupied by only those deserving enough - not rich enough.
Never let it be forgot that the world was not too far away from Andrew Ridgley and Scott Stringfellow making it to the top!
What next - Gary Glitter in a Minardi??!! Mind you, can you imagine Allen/Brundle: "And here comes Glitter - right up the rear of the young Raikkonen"
(Sorry)
