Just read in "Motorsport News" that the Spa round on 6-8 June is in jeopardy due to a lack of entries! I find this hard to believe as Tuscan competitors always come out for these events.

I hope the entries will make themselves known; as it will be a shame to loose Spa.

I've been told by TVR that it has definitely been cancelled due to the lack of support, mind you, with budgets as tight as they are at the moment, It will be a relief to most teams, mine included, as It costs us an extra £1k a car to race there. Shame, bloody love that track!! It's going to be interesting to see how many cars will start the season, If TVR get a 20 car grid, then I for one will be both suprised and happy,as we are only running two cars with the possibility of a third at a later date. Have TVR promoted the 2003 season? Well If they did I must of missed it!!!!!!!

Hi Rod, When I read this small article in "Motorsport News"; I was a bit shocked! As one of the dealers who has supported the Tuscan Challenge; I can understand your comment. Good luck this year and I hope the grids will grow through the year. I hope to make a few rounds this year.

Hi all,
The challange as always had its ups and downs,
but with Rod down to 2cars and us down to 2 cars,as always there will be new people come along, in 2001 there was only 18 cars at the 1st race and 26/28 by the end, 18 is still more than most championships get, so I wouldnt read to much in to that just yet because theres still some very good drivers going to doing it (ie) Mason,Caroline,Hay now thats sounds good already or is it Ive started to mis it and would still love to win it 3 times.

Thank you for the ray of hope, Bert. The fact that you will be down to two cars is understandable. You'll have enough work with your GT enterprise. However, to hear that the TVR factory cancels any hopes for a Tuscan round at Spa is quite a bummer for the European TVR drivers and fans. Are the factory's interests on bigger things today (Sebring, LM...) ? Anyway, I still keep my thumbs up and hope to see TVRs two times at Spa this year. Cake support will be available as allways.

Lets face It, we have heard very little from TVR about the 2003 Tuscan Challenge, and to let the Spa round fall from the calender is a suprise, unless that is, they have plans to announce a radical change. I'm just wondering if there might be some major news within the next few weeks that will over shadow the Spa issue and make us all look at the Tuscan Challenge in a new light! Think of It this way, main TVR motorsport effort now firmly in the top levels of international racing, no factory presence in British GT as such, and a domestic series running 15 year old race cars. Add to this dealer showrooms up and down the land promoting new Tuscans, tamora's and the T350,and It's not difficult to at least allow for the possibility of a change or two. The TVR Challenge could be a more reflective title, mind you, I'm just thinking aloud, what do I know!

Can now confirm that we will only be running two cars this season, myself in 29, and Jan Persson in 27. The 28 car has been totally re-built and is now "as new" but we have added power steering, a full Stacks system, floor mounted pedals, she looks the "Dogs". We will put her up for sale or would consider a rental deal if anybody wants to race this season. If anyone wants to know more, then E-mail me and we can discuss terms.

Phil Keen`s Tuscan completed its first successful test run at Castle Coombe on Thursday after its full rebuild ready for the 2003 season.
Phil`s car has been prepared by Racing Green Cars in Ash Vale, the major work being carried out by `Woody` who ran Tuscans in the 90`s.
Ian who ran the Britnell`s is helping phil with the car at the race circuit together who lots of advice.
Looking forward to the first race at Donnington.

Excellent news Phil. I hope you're going to be as quick as you demonstrated at Donington last year.
