Sorry, should have added. David Piper and Mike Knight set up a series for historic sports racers in the late 1980s (I think it was initially called the 'International Sports Prototypes Racing Club' or something like that?) which was really the staring point for the - still extant - South African historic racing scene.Your photos are very likely to be from their first visit to the Prince George Circuit in East London in 1988.
