Hey Pistonheads!

My dad and I really want to go to a 24h race this year, and we were wondering which is the best for a first experience. I've read, that Spa is the biggest Gt race. It has more cars and potentially guides around the garages and similar stuff, but the people or the community there isn't as great as at the N 24h. Also camping is more regulated. I read that you can go almost everywhere in the woods at the N 24h, and the people there are supposed to be awesome. And that you can get super close to the track.

How are the two comparable? Which race would you recommend?

Sorry if this has been asked already

I would do Spa first then realise that was the taster.

Nurb is a totally different sort of event, but they both have their good aspects. I prefer Germany due to the variety, Spa is just BoP GT3, but the supports are decent aswell.

We will supporting it this year as a 100th year anniversary event . So there will be an 80 Car ERL grid of GT cars , Ferrari 550 ( Enge and Kox ) , Aston V12 ( Turner etc ) , Maserati MC12 ,Lister Storm , Saleen then usual GT2 Gang , Porsche GT2R , 996 GT3 RS/R , 997 RSR and Ferrari 360 , and 430 as well as the TVR boys and Mosler . SO a LOT of noise . With a drive into Spa ... for all and 30, 000 there to party

I've booked up to go to Nurburgring 24hr this year, 8 of us going in 4 cars with a house booked 15-20 mins away rather than camping.
The atmosphere looks amazing but we don't fancy trying to sleep there for 4 nights. So we will be pitching up with folding chairs and sleeping bags at the side of the track for the actual race.
It's not our first time at the ring, but our first time at the 24hr car race (I've done the 24hr cycle race twice).
I'm counting down the days already!
