Can anyone offer first hand experience of camping at the N24?
I'm looking to arrange it for my mates stag do, with 6 of us going over in a few cars. The website seems to say that the camping alongside the track itself is pay on the day, and kind of allocated on a first come first serve basis but they keep opening more so you never get turned away.
Is this correct from anyones experience? We wouldn't be looking to arrive until the Friday so probably some way behind the hardcore fans and it'd be a notoriously bad stag do it we all got turned away because it was full!

Do you want a view of the track from your tent, or do you just want to camp close enough that you won't have to worry about finding your way back when tanked up (or having to drive)?
If you want to camp next to the fencing, then you'll have to be there about a week ahead of time...and be prepared for one of the regulars to kick you off 'their spot'.
Otherwise, there are plenty of camping options within 500m of any particular part of the track...and with a race ticket you'll also be able to use the free shuttle buses to get you around to different viewing spots (if you don't want to walk it all).

Just the latter, i have no desire to fight some drunk Germans for a spot near the fence! If you want to camp next to the fencing, then you'll have to be there about a week ahead of time...and be prepared for one of the regulars to kick you off 'their spot'.

Ok that’s great news, thank you!
I’m hatching a plan for next year, has anyone got experience of camping at Adenauer Forest? Seems to be a big site within walking distance of the town, good viewing of the track around there?
Hatzenbach was the other area I was considering, would give access to the GP track, but i’m not sure I’m particularly fussed about that.
Any other recommendations?

Not Adenauer Forst, but I camped at Breidscheid for many years and loved it there. Easy walk into Breidscheid or Adenau itself, and you can walk round the track up to Metzgesfeld. One of my favourite points was the run down from Kallenhard down through the little kink.Hatzenbach was the other area I was considering, would give access to the GP track, but I’m not sure I’m particularly fussed about that.

GP track is good for the start and the finish. The grid walk is worth doing, but you'll have to duck off early to get a spot in the stands. The Castrol S is a pretty good spot as all the GT3's come thundering down the straight and then hard on the brakes!
Pinocchio's in Adenau for dinner of course.

Thanks, I’m assuming 24 hour techno/ metal is the same wherever you camp and down to pot luck of who you’re pitched near to?GP track is good for the start and the finish. You can count yourself VERY lucky if you pitch up next to anyone playing anything other than techno/metal!The Camping am Nurburgring site down by the Dunlop hairpin is not quite so ‘Escape from New York’, it then it’s a drive out to watch on the Nordschleife.

Be aware camping can be difficult to get a pitch from Wednesday onwards. Sunday night you’ll be the only person there after the race.
Yes, I’m thinking of Monday arrival leaving after the race for a couple of days recuperation before heading to Spa for a 24 double header, all TBC depending on news from the ACO on my usual Le Mans campsite Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
