Hi all,

I was fortunate enough to marshal the new Super Touring Power event MSV laid on at Brands Hatch weekend just gone (1st/ 2nd July).

I must say the organisers really knocked it out of the park with this event. In conjunction with CTCRC - 2 days of classic touring car racing featuring cars from pre '66, up to pre '03 and everything in between, running on both the GP loop (Saturday) and Indy circuit (Sunday). Loads of ex-BTCC cars on display and drivers doing demonstration laps, even a couple of V8 Supercars joined in the fun. There was even a gaming tent with PS1's with Toca Touring Cars 2 on them!

Alain Menu, Anthony Reid, Paul Radisich, Steve Soper and Andy Rouse amongst others were in attendance across the two days doing live interview sessions and/ or racing on track.

Super Touring races were fantastic with local lad Jake Hill winning all 4 races across the two days in the ex- Laurent Aiello works Nissan Primera.

All in all a fantastic couple of days, and if they decide to run this event again I implore you all to attend if you have so much as a passing interest in touring car racing from yesteryear - I can almost guarantee you'll have a fantastic time. If you can't take my word for it Autosport did a pretty good write-up here https://www.autosport.com/national/news/why-super-...

A few photos I captured whilst walking round the garages and Colin Chapman Way;

If they run this again next year I'm in, I went to the masters historic earlier this year so I couldn't do this one as well. SWMBO would not have been impressed lol

Brands is a massive trek to get to, I'm hoping MSV run a couple of events or even a mini championship with these next year just so I can go to Donington or Oulton instead hehe

The CTCRC already have various events with Supertourers on the calendar.

Silverstone and Brands have been already but there's a round in August at Croft.

With a probable 20% increase in prices as happened with the American thing

My best guess for that would be inflation!

It was £25 to pre book. An additional 20% would make that £30.

Honestly, providing the turnout is as big as it was this year, that’s a bargain.

It was a great weekend, we had hoped to camp somewhere near but ended up in a hotel. We took a camping stove, parked in south bank and watched the day from there. Brands is a cracking circuit.

It was a cracking circuit before all the fencing and bits of it were removed from view.

Long way for me now hence why I rarely make the trip.
