Masters Historic meeting, Brands 2023
Discussion
Well, it’s looking like there could be about 17 F1 cars on the grid, which after last years tiny showing would be a lovely showing.
I used to go to this meeting every year, so let’s hope a larger F1 grid is a sign of something in this country improving for a change.
(Yes, my fingers are well and truly crossed!)

Does anyone know if the paddock behind the pits will be open to the public? It would be nice to be able to go take a look in the back of the garages where the F1 and LMP cars will be.
It should be as has been in previous years bar the 2021 covid nonsense (2020 the Public weren't allowed to spectate). The teams and drivers are generally friendly but DO NOT venture into the Pit lane. Thundersports said:

Actually, the pit lane is ok to go into, but keep inside the lines, and keep your eyes open so you don’t get in the way. I’ve been doing it for years, never had an issue, cleared it with a marshal the first time. I spend most of my time in the pits sometimes!

I a not sure you can get in there, you usually can not I think.
I’ve been going into the pit garages for many, many years, and did it at the British GTs and Masters Historic meetings last year. During Covid, no.
If you’re not sure, then to be fair, that means you don’t know.
Every time I have been to meetings there (usually big international or national stuff), the only people allowed into the area behind the pits are team members, not sure how you are getting in there, but it must be in meetings where it is allowed, as I have only been there with a press pass.

Check out the subject of this thread, that’s what I’m referring to, and obviously similar and lower meetings. Tony1963 said:

You're allowed into the paddock and pit garages, but spectators aren't allowed across the red line out of the pit garages into the pitlane ...
I suppose this might depend on what your definition of pit lane is. Obviously it would be downright dangerous to have spectators wandering around like the press photographers in Baku, and that doesn’t happen. But, you ARE allowed to go outside the pit garage on the pit lane side. You just mustn’t cross the very obvious lines into the active lane. markbigears said:
I just walked through the garages into the pit lane last year no problem. Just keep your wits about you.
Yes, but some other members of the public tend to be err ... idiots and wander around without any idea where they are... as long as you don't get in the way of cars / Marshalls / photographers doing their job you should be OK...
