Hey guys.
I ve got a question about exporting a pure racecar to Europe. The car never was and never will be road legal. It is a pure motorsports machine.
If I would buy the car in the UK and then bring it over with a trailer ( for myself) , how much fees and VAT would I need to pay ?
Would there be a difference if I would bring it to Holland or France? Both would only be transit as final destination would be Luxembourg .
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Sam

A lot will revolve around whether money is changing hands and if there is a business involved. There's a few extra hurdles for basic club racers from the UK going to Spa post brexit for example, with having to prove they are not trading in the EU and are not businesses. Also have to have ownership docs on plated trailers etc. I guess theorectically if the car is your own personal property and you're just relocating - then I think it would be reasonable to assume the race car can be treated as personal effects the same as other stuff you might find in a removals lorry smile

Depends on the age if the vehicle you'd need to check with the Lux authorities, but I'd expect vat at their 16% & duty at 10% if the vehicle is under 30 yrs old.

You'll need a UK customs agent to raise the T1 & a luxembourg agent to close it, cost usually 250 to 450 depending on who you use.

Then transport costs unless you are doing it yourself I'm happy to quote you on that.
