I suspect that its because last time McRae drove an F1 car, he would have put it comfortably on the grid (Jordan Car - McRae/Brundle swap), now the Schumeister would have to go some to keep anywhere near the Scotman on a nice slippery Welsh forest stage!!

Or more likely its a lack of shared sponsors (prepared to set it up, the last few have been organised by BAT) or that if this kind of stunt was done MS would have to be driving a motor from the Fiat Group.
