Hi all,
Always a fantastic event and can't wait for this years battles.

Does anyone know (or know where i can find out) what F1 cars are taking part this year?

This year I'm dragging my son (again!) to the event, but have also invited his best friend along as he has interests in becoming
a motorsports engineer.
Hoping to get him to chat with a few engineers if i can get access to the pit garages
(I tried the media centre, but they were not prepared to help in anyway, even though he has work experience booked with them in a few months!)

All the best, Mark

Just try asking them on the day. You used to be able to wander around garages with impunity, but sadly with ‘professionalism’ (ha) becoming endemic in historic racing they often have barriers etc up.

Thanks ChevronB19, that's what i'm hoping to do, I just hope you can actually get to the pit area. I'm sure last year there was security on the gate going down there, hence why i contacted the media centre. Kids need all the help and encouragement they can these days.

No probs. Brands is bit different I will admit. Remember a lot of the non F1 mechanics are just as (if not more) knowledgeable. I’m guessing the kids are late teens, but whenever I see a kid interested in my car I always ask them if they want to have a sit in it, and we talk through the various interesting bits about it. To be honest, it was offers like that that got me into it.

It is doubtful albeit impossible you will be able to get into the main pit straight area, that is always off limits usually, but you will certainly be able to wander around the outside of Paddock bend, where there will be plenty of stuff.

Not 100% but pretty confident you'll be able to get down to the Pits obviously don't wander in to the actual Pit lane.

I agree, I don't think I have ever had to show a pass (other than a car pass) to get into the grand prix paddock at brands other than maybe BTCC and BSB.
You may not be able to get through the vehicle tunnel but should have no issues getting through the tunnel on the pit straight.

As said above, obviously this doesn't include the pit lane.

Thanks for all the pointers folks.
Sunday tickets and paddock hill stand all booked.
I’m sure we will have a wonderful day.
The boys are looking forward to it, even my son smile

There is usually a security guard there every time I have been and I have tried in the past to go down there, been open about it, and they say no, but I cant recall what meeting this was for, maybe GTWC.

in all my years of attending the Masters event at Brands I've never had an issue getting into the pits. you will be fine.

GTWC this year due to Rossi, and BTCC are different. But otherwise its open access.

gutted to be missing this years event, make sure you watch the YTCC Dutch series!

I took my nephew yesterday. A very good day, his first exposure to F1 engines of any sort, and he’s hooked.
I used to go to the meeting every year, but life and Covid have made things difficult.

My nephew wants me to take him to see some old F1 cars soon! Might have to wait til the FoS next year.

I made a shortish video of my visit on Saturday. It's amateurish. By way of excuse, I'm learning the editing software.

The link, cleared with the moderators, is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDlKukhyMWk

For those interested, the video editor is Davinci Resolve. For the 3D bits, I've used Blender. Both bits of software, which are free!, are serious bits of kit.

Nice Video Derek, especially those the TVR monsters. (Say hi to Matt from me, we used to work together, hope he's well)
We had a fantastic day. More spectators this year than i've seen in the past, which is great.
Managed to get in to the pit lane and had some great chats with the drivers and crew.
